This unique ability paves the way for a trip through history, starting all the way back to prehistoric man then progressing through such time lines as the medieval era, War World 1, all the way up to modern times with a little of everything else in-between. Reading a chronological retelling of familiar history with a zombie twist made for a never dull experience; Z-Time, has to be one of the most original and fun anthologies I have ever read.

The writing is very high quality, creating an experience that is comparable to viewing a B sci-fi or horror film at the local drive in theatre. Furthermore, when it comes to bridging multiply genres Z-Time truly shines, with so many sub-genres represented beyond the obvious sci-fi / horror hybrid effect created by including the aliens, it truly is mind blowing the talented of those who contributed. All of the included stories are equally enthralling and feature art styles that perfectly capture each of the time-periods, a detail that sold me early on, after I noticed the styles were shifting so fluidly with each era change. Between the tremendous writing and jaw dropping artwork, Z-Time, is necessary purchase.

I highly recommend this graphic novel to any fans of anthologies, horror, or the ever-growing zombie subculture. For those of you looking for some Halloween reading to get into the spirit, I assure you that after you turn the final page of Z-Time, you will be more than ready for a night of ghoulish celebrating.

New Annual Award to Recognize 'Humanitarian of the Year'

LOS ANGELES, CA (August 23, 2010) – The Hero Initiative, the charitable organization dedicated to helping veteran comic creators in medical or financial need, is honoring one of comics' greatest gentlemen with a special award in his name.

The Dick Giordano Humanitarian of the Year Award will make its debut at the Harvey Awards Banquet at the Baltimore Comicon Aug. 28-29. Giordano, who passed away in early 2010, was part of Hero Initiative's Board of Directors. He was also a legendary artist, a guiding force at Charlton Comics and DC Comics for many years, a mentor to his colleagues, and a friend to all who knew him. His legacy epitomizes the caring and commitment Hero Initiative strives to achieve. In honor of Dick, The Dick Giordano Humanitarian of the Year Award will recognize one person in comics each year who has demonstrated the generosity and integrity Dick brought to the charity and to the comic book community at large.

"So many people have referred to Dick as 'The Great Gentleman of Comics', and I'm sure he'd love to see his name and legacy carried on, especially in such a wonderful way that honors others who have shown kindness and generosity," said Pat Bastienne, Giordano's longtime friend and co-worker and now the executor of Giordano's estate. "If Dick were here, he'd raise a Rob Roy and toast the idea."

2. Up to 5 to10 sequential pages. Include Cover and characters sketches and descriptions. It can be in any manga style.

We have been swapping backing and forth trying to finalize the manga and finally we got it!!! HURRAY!

This manga featured with our company is known as Gakkou No Shippo (Trans. "School of Tails". The synopsis is as follows:

Edgar Allen Poe and Howard Phillips Lovecraft were born and raised in different eras. But during each of their times they were both investigators of paranormal affairs and once had a case where they worked together. Searching for the power of a mysterious coin, the unlikely duo find themselves against an ancient emperor who wants to use the coins to conquer the world... throughout all times!

We caught up with writer, Jaime Collado, to talk about Poe and Phillips.

Horror News Network: How did you come up with the concept for this comic?

Jaime Collado: I'm a fan of these authors. Two horror legends and mythology were fascinating. And the idea was to unite the two worlds of literature.

Horror News Network: What is it like mixing the world of these two great horror writers?

Jaime Collado: Sincerely dominates the world of Lovecraft. The pantheon of monsters is richer for the adventure and action. But there are details on the work of Poe.

Horror News Network: What can we expect in terms of monsters and things that go bump in the night within these pages?

Jaime Collado: A lot. There are monsters, action, villains, creatures from other worlds. And mysteries ...

Horror News Network: How did you hook up with Arcana?

Jaime Collado: They knew of my work with Alias Enterprises for "Jhon Caronte, Zombie Detective". I worked on two projects with Arcana that are complete. Poe and Phillips being the first published.

Horror News Network: How is it working with artist, Miguel Hernandez Cedillo?

Jaime Collado: A pleasure. Miguel is a great person, artist and professional. I think his work is exceptional. I would love to go on with more adventures of Poe and Phillips with his art.

Horror News Network: What has impressed you the most with his artwork?

Jaime Collado: His love of detail is on every page. I think he has a great future in this industry.

Horror News Network: Which story stands out as your favorite from each author?

Jaime Collado: Lovecraft: The Mountains of Madness. It was the idea for the comic. And Poe: The Adventures of Arthur Gordon Pym. But in both cases it is difficult to choose.

Rottentail tells the bizarre tale of scientist, Peter Cotton. The kindly scientist worked steadily, gently using bunnies, to try and cure human infertility. Unbeknownst to Peter, the government was perverting his work developing soldiers that can breed in the field! Peter finds out and tries to stop them. Things, of course, go awry and Peter is transformed into the evil, horny Rottentail! Half man, half bunny all EVIL! Peter then proceeds to hop and chop his way back to his hometown of Easter Falls to exact some vengeance! This three issue limited series is written by David and pencilled/inked by the incomparable Kurt Belcher.

Gods Zones: Exordium Preview

In the regions of Akkadi is where everything began a long time ago. Its church and temple can longer be found, it ceased to exist. Which bore many riches in history, culture and knowledge- this one was reduced silently to the haze of memories. This is a part of its riches and history:
Between the shadows of a frosted night, one without numbers of criminals of war and exiled soldiers members of the elite unit Dekanoi, surround a tribe and like jackals devastate everything in their path. In that moment, between thunders and lightnings, the only survivor of the massacre manages to escape through the forest to alert the rest of the population, who are found at the temple of the ancient ones, Hechaloth. She runs through the forest, while keeping a lookout behind her to see if she is still followed by the countless hunters. When all of the sudden, a rain of bullets zoom by, which begins to halt her progress. Noticing how close she is to reaching her destination, she is stricken by a side force with some sort of spear, which slices her from the left side horizontally dividing her head in half. The person who gives the coup de grâce to his victim continues observing her lifeless body, while his face draws a cold smile full of hatred. As he looks up, he observes his main target, the temple of the ancient Hechaloth.

This well-known group Dekanoi manages to have access to the interior of the guarded temple of the ancient Hechaloth, where uselessly his victims try to defend themselves from their executioners. Between all the confusion the leader of the clan of the tribe Akkadi, the Genii (The clan of the guardian angels, a clan that serves the tribe of the devout faithful as the guardians and protectors of its tribe), Lirafel. He's cornered by those who claimed the lives of all around him, leaving everything under flames and entire chaos. Lirafel protests the reason of his actions imagining the real reason of his killers the unit Dekanoi. Lirafel orders Adalim and Mirna to protect and to save the only descendant of the ancient lineage. While Lirafel discussed with the leader of the well-known unit Dekanoii, without wasting words she orders their elimination. Unexpectedly a young woman intervenes shouting: NOOoooooooo! At that moment Mirna protects the young woman risking her own life, while the rest are massacred by their executioners.

Mirna and the young woman called Adriana escape miraculously out of the place, but they are still in danger since they are being chased by those who seized everything. Mirna is helped by Adriana since she was badly hurt by the shots of their hunters, who are still following their track through the cold forest. Mirna tries to persuade Adriana to leave her and to get away from the place, but Adriana refuses to do it. At that moment the young woman who supervises the unit Dekanoii, Sauri Ghazzali, find their whereabouts and demands to take Adriana. The ancient artifact Medium which was hanging in Adriana's neck begins to glisten and becomes one with the young woman Adriana. Making her float for a few moments, then losing conscience and entering a state of coma. Later on everything becomes darkness for Adriana. But even in this state as echoes resound all around her, the crying voices and lamentations of those that had been murdered this cold night full of chaos and destruction. Those lamentations are felt moreover without ceasing in her mind. Waking up deep insider her, her original and true nature, an ancient being prepares to get out of its prison between the darkness.
In this way is the beginning of the long walk to Zoneii, the celestial zone of the Gods.

Nando - Biography

My name is Fernando Vicente Iglesias. I was born in Salamanca (Spain), the city where I´m living actually. I study Art at the University of Salamanca, and I've always loved drawing - I've been doing it since I was six or seven. I've not stopped since then. Drawing's a huge part of my life.My interest in comics began a few years later. When I was fourteen I discovered 'The Savage Sword of Conan' and 'Creepy'; they really blew me away and awoke my passion for comics. After that I started reading other comics published in Spain at that time - '1984', 'Zone 84', 'Cimoc', and 'Cairo'; they featured artists like Richard Corben, Jose Ortiz, Neal Adams, San Julian, Boris Vallejo, and Jordi Bernet and those guys really influenced my drawing style.When I began studying Art at University I'd already published my first comics in fanzines and magazines,
but when I finished my degree I gave up comics for several years. I was a bit disillusioned at the prospect of dedicating myself full-time to drawing comics and I concentrated instead on music and graphic design.

But in 2002 I began to get interested in comics again. I started drawing again with the idea of getting published regularly in comics.

This new project and concepts are created by Javier "Sama" Acevedo with the colaboration of all our partners. We decided to make this new project., to make in the end an imprint or brand. Misiles, pistolas, ametralladoras, tanques etc son solo un recuerdo. El hombre sufre un cambio social y su nuevo forma de defensa es a base de espadas, ballestas, dagas, catapultas y demas armas. Todos los estamentos militares y policiacos deben reconvertir su vision de lucha y defensa basandose en los preceptos de los antiguos conquistadores. 20 años despues la sociedad ha aceptado plenamente esta situacion. Hombres con uniforme o con traje se pasean por la ciudad con espadas cual si fueran modernos espadachines. Alex Tagnan detective de la policia es uno de ellos.
